MAC Antonio Lopez Collection Eye and Face Palette Reviews and Pictures
I am a girl. I am a girl with dreams.
Makeup dreams.
Large, BOLD makeup dreams. Dreams of getting all dolled upwards exactly like the gal on this new MAC Antonio Lopez 6 Eyes palette, and so going to Petco to buy kitty litter.
SO FABULOUSLY DISCO DIVALICIOUS.
Let's encounter… I remember I have a blueish scarf around here somewhere, and some blackness earrings, and I'm thinking I could probably imitate the hair. Maybe.
Oh, merely that crazy-@ss earring?! I'll definitely have to improv that, since something tells me I probably wouldn't be able to observe it (easily) at Claire'due south.
The makeup, though, I've got that covered, boo-boo, thanks to the MAC Antonio Lopez collection's mix of eye, lip and cheek palettes.
The MAC Antonio Lopez drove
The new collection struts into North American MAC stores, onto counters and online September 12, and arrives at international locales the same month (international babes, yous might desire to swing by your local counter to enquire your fave MAC artist for a business firm date).
Soooo…who IS this dude?
Offset thing I thought when I saw these palettes was, "Oh, hell yep!" The second thing was, "Who is Antonio Lopez?"
Antonio Lopez (Feb 11, 1943 — March 17, 1987) was a globe-renowned fashion illustrator who'south work appeared in many tiptop-tier glossies like Faddy, Harper's Bazaar and Elle, as well every bit the style pages of papers like The New York Times. In addition to his artwork, he's known for discovering many famous models, too, including Grace Jones and Jerry Hall.
The new MAC Antonio Lopez drove features some of his drawings, with each of the palettes busy with one of his muses (MAC calls the ladies "Antonio's Girls").
An afternoon with Antonio
This afternoon I told Tabs that I could merely work a half mean solar day because I had a prior engagement with three eyeshadow palettes and the 2 confront palettes. He grumbled and flake my nose. 🙂
Then, I crossed my fingers, did a disco dance (the Hustle, IF you must know), and hoped to find just every bit much beauty within these palettes equally out.
MAC Antonio Lopez: 6 Optics Palettes in Bronze, Violet and Teal ($43.50 each US and $52 CDN)
What did I notice?
Well, the ane eye palette I felt kind of "eh" almost at start, Teal, turned out to be much more interesting than I thought.
The outset time I saw its colors, they didn't quite make sense to me, but after I started buffing and blending, the mix of bright bluish and light-green played well with the smokier olive, black, gray and low-cal violet shades.
Now if I could only go rid of the fallout… Thank goodness, there's only a trivial. If I were forced, cruelly, to cull just one of these iii center palettes to get downwards with, I'd choose Teal quicker than you could say "boogie-oogie-oogie."
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B+/A-
As for fallout bug with the other two eye palettes, Violet and Bronze, nope. None.
Violet'due south pink and royal give it a foxy '80s vibe, and I remember that bottom row of gray, silver and black should satisfy my animalism for smokey eyes (kind of reminds me of Prism past Hourglass). The cream shade in the upper right-hand corner, though? Not that inspiring, simply I capeesh the contrast.
MAKEUP AND Dazzler Weblog RATING: B+
Bronze is similar the sensible sister who, if pressured to have another a kamakazi, ends upwardly dancing on top of a table, LOL!
I was actually looking forward to Bronze because you know I lurves me my neutrals, especially the sassy pink and coral.
I
the idea of those shades contrasting with the gold, brownish, taupe and cream, and I almost shed a glittery tear as I realized that the nuances in some of the colors are somewhat lost on my skin tone. Next time I think I'll moisture my brush head first before applying to coax out more intensity. If you're a lighter lass than NC42, I don't remember the paint would be an issue. This one's both pretty and practical.

MAC Antonio Lopez: Face up Palettes in Pink and Coral ($46 US and $55 CDN)
The collection also features two face up palettes that, like Transformers, are more than meets the eye. Open the meaty and BAM! — a chroma and highlighter. And then slide the pan to the right to reveal a bronzer underneath.
Engineering science! We haz it! 🙂
Lamentable, I'yard a picayune cray right at present. Must consume presently.
And so, Face/Coral (officially, that's its proper name) leans warm while Face/Pinkish leans cool, with Coral being the darker of the two.
I'm crushing on Face up/Coral 'cause I similar the way it looks with my post-vacation tan. The coral blush is brighter and more intense (and so it shows up easily on my skin) than its counterpart in the other palette, and the keen gold highlighter feels RyGos smooth. The bronzer — it reminds me of my beloved NARS Laguna, simply without the shimmer. You bettah rock this if you lot wear warm colors well.
MAKEUP AND Beauty Web log RATING: A
I like Face/Pink, likewise, although the bronze-ish highlighter feels a trivial chunkier than I'd like. The pink blush is maybe also a tad likewise sheer for me, equally is the bronzer, but I tin can totally meet lighter lovelies twerkin' this one. MAKEUP AND Dazzler BLOG RATING: B+
Two things before I forget — I kind of wish that 1) MAC had also included another option for gals NC44 and up, since both Pink and Coral may not register well on darker skin tones; and 2) I had a unicorn to teleport me to McDonald's right at present, 'cause I'm hella hungry.
